Vancouver is overwhelmingly a city of entrepreneurs, and behind every entrepreneur is a story of inspiration, sometimes exasperation or desperation and always determination. Every year Hastings Crossing BIA hosts a tour of a handful of restaurants, some of them only open for a few months, to offer you a taste of what’s new and to meet other business owners, entrepreneurs and investors. This year we’ll be enjoying drinks and a sampling of menu items from Yagger’s (some of the best comfort food in Vancouver) the Pint (one of the best place to catch the big game, with over 40 flavours of wings and a huge selection of beers) and Burgundy a new and exciting concept from two respected veterans of the Vancouver food scene. At each stop we’ll hear from the owners of these businesses about what inspired each concept, and some thoughts on being a new business in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
Price per ticket is $15, which is incredible value. This includes a beer, wine or cocktail or non-alcoholic drink, and sample trays at each location. The tour will be guided by Hastings Crossing BIA Executive Director, Wes Regan (a gourmand and lover of stories himself) and will run from 5:30 to 7:30 on Tuesday August 11th beginning at Burgundy Restaurant (33 West Hastings between Save on Meets and Acme Cafe).
