Cleaning

Needles, Litter, Graffiti, Pressure Washing – Sidewalks & Laneways

In response to the increasing challenges of street activity and litter faced by businesses within HxBIA boundaries we have service agreements and contracts with several organizations to provide cleaning and safety services.

Graffiti removal: In addition to City graffiti removal, HxBIA works with two contractors to remove graffiti from private property. Please use our incident reporting tool to request graffiti removed from your business or property free of charge.

Neighbourhood cleaning: We also work with Mission Possible, United We Can, Coast Mental Health, and the City of Vancouver to provide cleaning initiatives in our streets, sidewalks, and laneways every day of the week. To report any incidents of cleaning, including feces, litter, drug paraphernalia, large garbage removal, etc, please use our incident reporting tool.

The following are City services that HxBIA has advocated strongly for, and if members have questions about this or feel they are not happening/enough/etc. Click Here to contact us.

Other Resources:

Free Paint: Thanks to a partnership the City of Vancouver has with Dulux Paints, Vancouver property owners and tenants can receive free exterior paint for the removal of existing graffiti.  Click here for more information.

Graffiti Wipes: We have a limited supply of Graffiti Wipes.  They come in the form of canisters, much like hand sanitizing wipes, and individual pouches. Typically the wipes remove small tags that have been spray-painted or drawn on surfaces such as walls, windows, light poles and utility boxes for example.  If you feel this can assist you in dealing with smaller tags etc on your property then Contact us and we will get some to you.
