Fall 2024: Dignity and Agency: Identifying Unmet Goods and Services in Vancouver’s Hastings Corridor

This community-based research highlights key gaps in goods and services identified through interviews, surveys, and focus groups with civil servants, local businesses, local property owners and real estate groups, non-profit executives, and residents.

This research was conducted in partnership with SFU Community-Engaged Research Initiative, Community Impact Real Estate Society, City of Vancouver, Hessey Architecture & Consulting, and Exchange Inner City.

Fall 2024: Supporting Independent Business Success in HxBIA

This research engaged with HxBIA members to understand the challenges and opportunities for existing businesses and identified methods to support existing businesses and fill empty spaces with independent businesses. It reviewed best practices in other cities to learn from the attributes, lessons learned and outcomes of other programs, and identified the enhanced economic development role that the HxBIA can play to support business establishment, development, and growth.
